In the words of a famous song: "lets start at the very beginning"
I want to look at the opening verse of Genesis, (seen in the picture above) I want to show you just how relevant this verse is to us and to our world. The verse opens with just four words: In the beginning God, or in Hebrew; Berashaeth Elohim
These opening words are so simple yet they are also so very insightful, the Bible does not try to prove that God exists, it simply states that He does and that He is involved with our world. You see God is bigger than any mathematical calculation or philosophical argument; the very fact of creation is a testimony to the reality and existence of God. "The heavens declare the glory of God" (Psalm 19:1).
The Apostle Paul did not spend his time trying to prove the existence of God instead he simply told people to turn from their false God to the living and true God who made the heavens and the earth (Acts 14:15; 17:24-32 and 1 Thess. 1:8-9).
When we listen to the radio or watch our TVs we find so called experts telling us all about our world and how it evolved over millions of years, but no human is qualified to speak with certainty on the subject of creation, listen to the book of Job on this matter (Job 38), verse 4 says "Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me if you have understanding" and in verse 18 "Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this."
Only God can give authoritive information about our world because 'in the beginning God' He is the first cause of everything. Before anything was created God was there and without God nothing would be created, Psalm 90:2 says "Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God." Now immediately this short but profound statement rules out the idea of atheism.
If, in the beginning God was there then there is a God, which is the matter, settled. There is no need to say any more; atheism is not an intellectual argument it is simply a philosophy to excuse our failure to believe and trust in this God. But these opening words tell us a number of things about God;
Remember these as the journey:

God is Self-sufficient

God is Self-existant

God is Eternal
Keep this in mind guys as we continue on our journeys!!! We have an awesome God. This is a hard hurdle to overcome as we start on the road to the truth. Is God eternal? Does God exist? If not then please tell me! Try and find proof, trust me, I have tried to disprove God and it doesnt work. Have faith and move on. Accepting that he exists doesnt make you a Christian but it is an important start. Lets sort it and move on!!!!!
